The term is used even as metaphore to indicate a project that has second means. Most of the 80's cartoons were trojan horses for advertise their toys. As you may remember they all ended with one of the characters talking to the public, apparently to explain the moral of the story, or the things to not imitate, but s/he always ended it saying "Bye! Bye!" that sounds not ramdomly like "Buy! Buy!".
