There's a new book out this week: They Called Me Mad: Genius, Madness, and the Scientists Who Pushed the Outer Limits of Knowledge, by John Monahan. It seems pretty relevant to this page.
Not actually sure if Frankenstein the classic movie is such a good example. Or the book. Mad scientist, yes. But as far as I can remember the story contains very little in terms of rejection by his peers, medical establishment failing to recognize that he's right, that sort of thing is not really covered in the film, is it?
