Does this really need to exist? It is just an ironic variation of Powers That Be?

Not really. Both trope names reference the same source, but they're distinctly different. One exists within the story-verse; the other writes the story.

Except it's confusing, not really a trope, and basically just a fan anecdote. It's been suggested that it's better to have this as a redirect, and move the comment about some fans calling the producers The Powers That Be over to the actual page.

Considering that almost everyone uses the definite article when refering to Powers That Be, this is preferable.

Sakamoto demands an explanation for this shit.
