Would it be worth adding a section on jokes and parodies? I'm pretty sure Family Guy had one when Stewie was planning to write a song and only had the chord structure nailed down, and I've also seen a musical stand-up comedy routine (by artists whose identity I've sadly forgotten) involving a medley of at least a couple dozen songs from the past two or three decades that exploited this chord progression.

The first one sounds like a different trope that would work for any chord structure; the second sounds like a Conversational Troping example of this one.

Rhymes with "Protracted."

I believe you are thinking of "Four Chords" by The Axis Of Awesome.

Does the chorus of "So What (I'm Still a Rock Star)" by P!nk fit here? It sounds like it but I can't be sure.
