I wanted to check in before adding an entry to the Video Game section. This article is for ships specifically designated as "Dreadnaughts", correct? Freespace 2 had the "Juggernaut"-class ships in the GTVA Colossus and the Shivan Sathanas. Both fit the description of "one class of vehicle that just outclasses everything else. It's the biggest, baddest, meanest thing flying (or walking, or rarely rolling), packed with weapons, armored (and possibly shielded) to withstand a whole other fleet's worth of firepower, and may be The Battlestar on top of it all." I was wondering if this would be an appropriate entry here.

I'm a little confused about whether this trope is about the word "dreadnought" specifically (which would invalidate a lot of entries listed under it) or if it applies more generally toward any huge, overwhelmingly-powerful ship that is not The Battlestar.

It's more about the tendency for the name "dreadnought" to be used to identify what is supposed to be the most frightening combat vehicle, not just scary combat vehicles in general. The use of "dreadnought" in non-naval settings (see Death Race and Warhammer 40k examples) is about the impact of the name, not specifically ship-related. There might be a trope for big, scary, non-Battlestar spaceships, but this isn't it.
