The examples here need a working-over... A lot of the ones in the australia specifically section aren't actually for this trope— they're Throw-Away Country, But For Australia.

Fixed two entried under Real Life: the Burr account was simply wrong, and the World War I example had the Lusitania sinking years after it really occurred.

Re: Shiny New Australia and RISK. When I was a child, my dad and older brother would handicap themselves against us younger two kids. My little sister and I were allowed to connect Australia and South America, but the older two (dad and brother) could not.

Somehow, after reading the "deathtrap" paragraph, Nick Cave makes much more sense to me.
