The pipe in Fallout New Vegas is more Boring, but Practical; it can't compete with a supersledge or unique melee weapon, but its weight is low and DPS is high, especially compared to the tire iron, pool cue, and knife (the other early-game melee weapons).
Considering the somewhat prevalence of pipe bombs should it probably be added to this trope or just mention it and link it to another trope the is specifically about explosives?
