Is this page an ad for Irwin Chusid's book Songs In The Key Of Z? The description mentions it three times and it's also the cover image. I'd rewrite the page, but I don't know enough about the subject matter.
His inclusion in Chusid's book notwithstanding, I don't think Captain Beefheart (Van Vliet) belongs on this page. He had no less musical experience and training than his mentor and close collaborator Frank Zappa, and like Zappa he was more than capable of composing, arranging and playing "conventional" music when he wished. Also, his music has had a great deal of influence on mainstream artists within several genres. Van Vliet was no "outsider" artist.
