Is South Africa regarded as distinct enough In its animal stereotypes to have its own folder?
Hide / Show RepliesCan you name any of them? I don't know about African media, but in Western media it usually gets clumped together with the rest of Sub-Saharan Africa (or worse, even North Africa), unless it's a story specifically about the Apartheid. Which brings Alfred J. Kwak to mind: White South Africans are represented by white geese who oppress the native black ducks of South Africa.
Good question. I'd sort it under Oceania (because geographically it's in the middle of the Pacific, not on the American continent), but as an European I have no idea whether Hawaiians see themselves primarily as American or as Oceanian/Polynesian.
Maybe let's make a Polynesia folder (under Oceania), which can include both Hawaii and other Pacific islands? I'd guess these islands share animal stereotypes.
What is the animal stereotype for the Netherlands?
