In response to jketchum31's comment from the archives re: Flint and Detroit, I made an edit regarding the "is Michael Moore really from metro Detroit" thing. (Well, admittedly, I posted it before seeing that comment in the archives, but I think it still works.)
"To be fair, Flint is pretty hard to tell apart from Detroit. Both are/were heavily dependent on the automotive industry, and both are nearly indistinguishable from post-apocalyptic wastelands." As a lifelong resident of Flint, I can safely say this troper's hit the nail right on the head.
