Norse Mythology has an inversion. Sol (sun goddess) and Moni (moon god)
I wonder if this trope's ever overlapped with Female Feline, Male Mutt, like a male sun dog and a female moon cat. I think this is probably also a Red Oni, Blue Oni trope, since the sun man is probably more fiery and the moon woman is more calm.
