Yeah, I'm gonna move this back. The original branding as shown on every DVD slipcase from Superman: Doomsday all the way to Superman: Unbound is "DC Universe Animated Original Movie". Also, "DC Universe Animated Original Movie" gets 503,000 Google hits while "DC Universe Original Animated Movie only gets 71,700.

EDIT: Oh...I see you were talking about a subpage...well, my point stands. I'm moving the pages.

Would it be overly cynical to suggest that a disadvantage of wholly independent production is the inability to get long-term attachment to certain characters-as-portrayed-and-written?

Eh, I think the Your Mileage May Vary Pot Hole mostly gets that across.

See you in the discussion pages.

It's no more a disadvantage here than it is in every single other stand alone movie out there. It didn't hurt The Godfather, why should it hurt Superman Doomsday?

And, yes, I am very much aware of the difference in quality between the two movies.

Should Mask of the Phantasm and Return of the Joker be listed here, or is there some requirement they lack that I'm unaware of?

They're covered in the DCAU. These are for the one specifically released under the "DC Universe" banner, methinks.
