I disagree, since this is the official name for inflicting physical harm as punishment. It's probably supposed to be Corporeal punishment, since "corporeal" is an adjective relating to the body, but that's neither here nor there.

one would assume that changing attitudes about this and it's subtropes are the reason it's basically gone but given it's popped up from time to time, even in the last three decades in kid' media, what gives with that?
I suggest an alternate name: Spare the rod, spoil the child.
