The Ben 10 one is indeed iffy, but I also haven't seen the episode.
The problem is needing to differentiate when it's the characteristics of the split up personality that hinder effectiveness or their limited nature. For Genie's example his different personality avatars are still powerful but literally can't use their magic in a way that works outside their personality trait, meaning his powers are functionally divided. Angry Genie can't be diplomatic and even joins the bad guys for a bit whereas Joker Genie is simply too chaotic for his magic to have a beneficial effect.
Or with Jackie Chan where the Yin and Yang sides are still both master martial artists but The Yin side wants be violent and goes straight for a fighting approach whereas the Yang one wants to talk it out and become too defensive.
I feel as though Literal Split Personality instances shouldn’t be included, as having different personality aspects doesn’t necessarily make one weaker. Only if it’s a person’s abilities that are divided up.
Like the Ben 10 example, the Bens are pretty much all equally capable in power as the original. They just kept getting in each other’s way, which is a different matter altogether.
