Is the Knight Rider example actually a case of Bail means Freedom? The way I interpret it, the Foundation will get any charges dismissed. (which means Michael would just be plain released, not released on bail) the police officer's "nobody will be able to bail him out" would be a reference to being bailed out fo trouble- aka, someone getting him out of trouble- not literally paying bail to get him released.
