  • The Torchwood episode "Adam": Adam is an alien who existed only through people's memories, which he modified by touch. Then again, he calls himself Adam Smith, so maybe it's a reference to the moral philosopher and economist...though probably not.

It doesn't seem to be anything symbolic. Or is the trope "characters named Adam"?
