- The Torchwood episode "Adam": Adam is an alien who existed only through people's memories, which he modified by touch. Then again, he calls himself Adam Smith, so maybe it's a reference to the moral philosopher and economist...though probably not.
It doesn't seem to be anything symbolic. Or is the trope "characters named Adam"?
I'm willing to bet there is some LGBT literature using the name Steve in a very intentional way. I wonder if that could qualify as playing with this Trope?
