Aaron and Paul kissing is met with mild discomfort... with Marsh eventually taking a "do what you want, but not in front of me" stance, reflecting a generally lower tolerance and understanding of gay relationships in the early 2000s.

My read of that scene was rather different— Marsh's reaction not being an early 2000s thing, but more about "3 people just committed suicide, its pretty callow of you to be kissing right now."

ahh, i see. i read it differently but maybe i'm biased as someone who lived in that time period experiencing that attitude, which sort of colors my reading of the text. you can delete it if you want
