Awesome book. The main protagonists (Ludmilla and Dick) even openly play with quite a few sci fi tropes, what with her being from the future and having an admitted low brow sense of humor. It's easy to make a premise like this suck but this is written by David Weber and he's one of those precious few authors that can sell a novel just because it has his name on the cover. That's why I bought the book in the first place and I wasn't disappointed; this is one of the few books that I've actually read more than once and I've even memorized a few paragraphs from it because it's just that awesome.
