Discussion Headscratchers / Misfits

Has anyone else noticed that there are never any other people around except the main characters and the occasional scene where extras are needed like a bar or party scene??? No cars on streets. Nobody just walking down the sidewalk. Nobody working in this huge community center except the occasional class or event (extras)
