Even if he can’t be brought to trial, it would still reflect horribly on him if the body were to be discovered and if he were to be somehow implicated in the crime.
What reason did Dane Gustavia have to go back to the scene of the crime in case 3? He clearly believes that he can’t be convicted due to the statue of limitations so why did he go back just to hide a body he “can’t be charged for the murder of”? Wouldn’t it just put him more at risk of being convicted of other crimes regarding the cover up? He didn’t go back to find his son, either. So what was the point of the entire charade?
