  • "Of course the resurrection item couldn't save Sachi- the Nerve Gear had long since fried her brain. The item only works within ten seconds because that's how long it takes for the Nerve Gear to register that the character has died and emit enough microwave radiation to fry the user's brain."

This doesn't count as Fridge Brilliance. It's clearly stated that upon death, the Nerve Gear would fry the user's brain. Kirito is clearly dismayed because the resurrection item only works in the ten second gap before that happens, and it's clear that it wouldn't have worked.

  • "The Nerve Gear has medicinal value for the terminally ill- it can slow the progress of some diseases by conserving energy, and they can experience things in the game that their illness prevents them from doing in real life."

Debatable— this is said to be directly explored in the later novels. I'll leave it because I don't really know what to do with it.

  • "Despite being a death game, Sword Art Online is still a game. That's why you can commit a murder and not be permanently marked as a criminal. Clearly there are some things that don't transfer properly when you raise the stakes like this."

Removed— After five killings, you'll be permanently marked. This was explicitly stated.
