Not so sure the ballroom windows belong in the Artistic License category. The concussive shock of a window that size and thickness failing could be enough to cause catastrophic failure within milliseconds (faster than the eye could discern, certainly) of other windows stressed far beyond their rated failure pressure. Out of the various forms of artistic license the film took, that one at least isn't so unbelievable.
Not that anyone's ever going to read this comment, but still.
