He is daydreaming, and she gives a penny for his thoughts. He reveals that he kissed another girl. She has a Tear Jerker look and turns away to hide it. He then asks her what's wrong and offers a penny for her thoughts, and she waits untill he gives her her penny back to push him and let him fall from the roof.
I cannot for the life of me figure out how the example writeup relates to the trope. I can't even tell who the giver and taker are. Is he for kissing another girl? Is she for controlling him? It's all very confusing.
