Is it just me, or does his voice coming out of the mouth of supporting character doom them to certain, violent death and/or secretly being evil the whole time? The last time I heard his voice coming from a supporting character(Resident Evil Revelations 2), it instantly spoiled the character for me.
Is there a trope about typecasting doubling as spoilers? Because that would make a lot of sense here, I think.
I would remove or re-word about "every joke you had in mind". Unlike the user who added that with association to Japanese genre, more people may actually think about his Russian roots (e.g. as Yuri Gagarin's namesake).
