Since I don't want to start another edit war, I figured I'd bring this here. I put An Arm and a Leg on Runaan's entry because the same thing happened to his arm as to Rayla's hand. Rayla was saved by Zym, but Runaan had no such luck, and Viren points out how damaged his arm looks while he's imprisoned. It was removed for being "speculation" but it doesn't strike me as "speculation" so much as "extrapolation," since the state of his arm was directly commented on by Viren and Runaan has no access to a way of dispelling the binding spell. Is it good to add back in?

The trope is "limb loss as dramatic device." The trope page says, "Note that this trope only applies when limb loss is deliberately used to advance the plot." Rayla's threat of limb loss had a whole plot line about it. Runaan has had no such thing at this point.

Disputed Entry, has been placed here for preservation of entry, and community review.

  • Advertised Extra: He features prominently on the main poster for the series, but is not introduced until the very end of the last episode of Book 2.
  • Early-Bird Cameo: He shows up in the first episode of the series in the beginning narrative flying in the sky with a group of bird-like creatures.

Context. For whom were these entries removed from? You don't say.

They were removed from Sol Regem's folder — the debate centers around whether he is the dragon on the main poster for the series and/or the one in the prologue.

I added in Advertised Extra when I made his character entry (someone else added in Early-Bird Cameo later), as I thought the connection was obvious and didn't see any reason to think the two dragons were different characters. He has a scar in the last episode of Book 2 that's not there in the prologue or on the poster, but there's not exactly too many Archdragons running around (pretty sure it's one per magic school) and he's the only named Sun Archdragon we've seen anyway.

Bringing up a couple points Mike brought up in edit reason. Quote his edit reason "the dragon from the intro and poster has two eyes, and smooth snote. Sol Regem has one eye, or atleast a scar over his eye, and two horns on his nose. They also have a different color scheme. Art change is possible, however until season 3, or till word of god, it is impossible to be sure."

The color scheme thing is a lighting trick. When he flies in front of the sun in the pilot, he clearly has a white belly. As for other cosmetic differences, there is a 1000 year gap. Hence the beard.

The belly is light blue, I did a dissection of the screen in GIMP. The light contrast makes it look white, but isolating the neck shows light blue.

Sol Regem and Intro dragon also has different maw structure. They both look similar, and Sol Regem could just be wearing war paint, or something, however there are still a lot of differences. As said before, there could have been some tweaks to Sol Regems design, but as of now it is inconclusive.

You're overthinking this. https://ibb.co/3r8Rkhz One color under shade, another under light. That is literally a difference of about ten seconds in the same clip. Present Sol Regem is being shot with the same effect.

Occam's Razor applies here. Is it more likely two dragons with the exact same crest are the same dragon, or are two dragons that look almost identical not supposed to be the same entity? Again, it's a thousand year difference between the flashback and the present, during which there was a war.

To me it isn't about the crest but the color. a *Gold and White Dragon with ablack and Red Face* does not look like a *White and Blue dragon.*

My main problem is these two shots. https://vignette.wikia.nocookie.net/dragonprince/images/c/c8/SolRegem.png/revision/latest?cb=20190215143039

They just look too different.

You're making more of the differences than is there. First, neither dragon is blue, that's lighting, something the clip you just posted demonstrated. Second, both dragons do have golden scales. Third, there is no "red face". That is a massive scar. Sol's missing an eye. The only concrete differences between the two are the nose horn, black coloring on the lower jaw, and beard. Literally every other feature is identical. Again, Occam's Razor.

If we can't even see the same thing when we look at the same picture, then we are not going to be able to agree on this.

The official account just confirmed they're the same dragon: https://dragonprinceofficial.tumblr.com/post/183270151782/could-you-confirm-whether-sol-regem-the-dragon-on

Should we collapse the voice actors for foreign dubs into a note? It's getting long and I'd wager most people here are watching the original English version anyways

Why does Claudia have 'Would Hurt a Child' because she's willing to fight Rayla? She's only a year older than Rayla is.
