  • Foil: To King George VI, both being world leaders with a kept-secret illness and who die young (Kennedy was famously murdered, while George VI died in his sleep). Both men were also the Unexpected Successor of their respective families (Kennedy's elder brother was killed in WWII, George's was forced to abdicate). They widely differ in their personalities, with JFK being an elected charismatic leader and a natural-born public speaker who loves the limelight but who in private is portrayed as a cruel person towards his wife, while the late king was a reluctant ruler, a timid person with a speech impediment, and deep down a devoted family man who happened to be appointed Emperor.

They don't coincide to be foil, ok

What about Contrasting Replacement Character ? with the "replacement" role being the leader of the free / western world (George VI King Emperor pre and JFK post WWII/cold car)

I don't think so. He's a one shot character and that seems more about a character who stays around longer.

I just realized most of it applies to the Queen too, so it has been rewritten
