As part of the proposed navbox cleanup for Drag Race character pages, we would need to create a page indexing all of the RuPaul's Drag Race season-specific pages.

This would then be used as the destination for Characters page navbox links from the other shows in the franchise, rather than listing all 16+ US seasons on every page for Drag Race Thailand or Drag Race España etc.

The proposal is that:

Any concerns about this? If so, please comment on the Drag Race cleanup thread.

Sooooo …… is anyone watching Sweden and Belgium? I think we’ve neglected making pages for them like we did with the other international franchises

Just watching Sweden now. Belgium next. I'd definitely be up for helping to create pages.

As Drag Race Philippines has set a precedent by creating a Series page, and I know we'll see increasing pressure to remove "non-character" tropes from Characters pages, I'd suggest we do the same for these, though.

Most (all?) of the international show names are now created, but as redirects.

There's now a discussion on the Character Page Cleanup thread about how/if we can trope non-contestants without conflicting with the Real Life Troping guidelines.

Drag personas are clearly constructed characters, but judges and pit crew who appear as themselves are another matter - e.g. when we trope something like Age-Gap Romance for Graham Norton, that's clearly his real life and not the show, even if one of the contestants mentioned it.

Please comment on the thread if you have a view on this.

The Drag Race Wiki announced that they're removing all the queens' real names from their wiki pages, with the exception of queens who are known in some capacity by their real names. Should we follow suit? In my view, it doesn't really make sense for us to list real names if the actual Drag Race Wiki doesn't.

Should we move the All Stars cast to a new page?

With the addition of all stars four the page is becoming overloaded. The separate seasons should be put in different folders.

Absolutely, it’s become onerous to edit all stars 4

So it appears Solle and I disagree on something regarding the "Real Name" listing under several of the contestants featured here.

On the one hand, I think despite the fact the ones in question are transgender and have officially changed their name, we should still at least list their previous names, as those were the names they were known as during their tenure on the show. I have no issue listing their new self-chosen names first, as that is how they prefer to be referred to, but the fact is they were known as a different name at the relevant time to which they are being included in this Trope Page.

On the other hand, Solle has raised the argument that (and with this I will fully admit my knowledge is lacking) some or most people who identify themselves as transgender may find it offensive to be referred to, even in the past tense, as their original birth-given name, as it was given to them as a stamp of the gender they do not recognize themselves as. Solle believes we should only list the names these people have asked to be called as their "Real Name" with no previous mention to their birth-given names.

Any comments on this discussion? A ruling?

If they're called by their birth name on the show, then they should be listed.

Now, I was under the impression that (at least some) of the contestants have "drag personas" that aren't necessarily their "new names" so much as a stage name. But I'm assuming based on your post that they only did the actual transgender/renamed people.

Well their drag personas are normally what they are referred to for the majority of the show with some exceptions here and there. I suppose it is a lot like an actor playing a character, and listing the character's name with the actor's name underneath. I guess the argument comes with if the actor has legally changed their name between the time they actually portrayed the role and a few years afterwards, should their actor's name be changed to their legally changed name WITH no reference to their name at the time of production?

I see quotes have been added, but I wonder, some of the quotes are from the queens themselves and some of them are from things Ru said to them. I changed Jiggly's quote, but should we just use a mix of both, or should quotes only be from the queen in question, and not just about them?

Should we relist queens under All-Stars for tropes that take into effect in that season?

We did it on the Project Runway character sheet, so yeah, I think most of them have enough tropes unique to that season that we could.
