It is being discussed on clean u threads that only characters who have their own character pages should have their variants listed with them and others should have their variants on the multiverse page. So, characters like Captain Carter would but not Black Bolt. Though nothing has been decided yet. Here is where the discussion is happening.

Personally I don't mind, but I also agree with you. I guess as a compromise, remove it until an official Intercontinuity Crossover with the X-Men Film Series happens?

Since we're on the topic, I guess we should also remove the Alternate Self entry.

That could be a good compromise. Like say the next Deadpool movie has a scene were Wade crosses universes. Then it would make more sense to re-add the link.

That's a good question. We can start putting them on character pages instead. The only ones causing problems would be Loki and Iron Man, the latter's page is rather long too and alternative characters added to it will likely trigger the "too long" warning as well.

Also, it might look clumsy for more minor characters who don't have separate pages but will be in what if.

We'll probably just have to wait and see till What If…? (2021) comes around. If the changes are notable enough and if something happens within the show or the showrunners mention something worthy enough to have them posted here then we could start making folders for them.

I think Characters.What If 2021 should be able to handle the alternate characters.

So tropers are creating folders for What If characters on "main" character pages. I moved remaining Loki variants to a separate page, and Throg to Thor's page. I propose to use this page for characters outside and/or above the timelines (TVA, Watchers, Alioth).

I always prefer official to fanmade (assuming the current is official) and from a subjective POV I like the used-ness of the seal that's currently there.

i'm gonna say we wait until that movie actually releases. we don't even know if Raimi/Webb Spidey characters would actually appear or not; for all we know Marvel Studios might have just recast Molina and Jamie Foxx to reprise their roles like they did JK Simmons as J Jonah.

i think sorting the page by "Loki variants" and "other variants" as is works fine for me. although i'm not sure why L1130 Loki has to be separated from all the other Loki variants and put in the MCU: Loki page. imo either all the Loki variants are put in MCU: Multiverse or they're sent back to MCU: Loki. No inbetweens. (i suggest the former since this page can also serve as a hub for other variants or AU characters, like evil Dr. Strange in the What If…? (2021) show for example)

We can't put the Loki variants back on his page, it got a red "too long" warning. This means that either we split it or it eventually gets damaged and becomes unrecoverable. There is a limit on page length on TvTropes. This is the very reason I moved those sections here. Even without them Loki's page is currently longer than any other MCU character page.

We could create a separate page for Loki Variants, but I am unsure whether it is a good idea.

As for L1130, he shares a lot of tropes with the main variant, it is easier to keep them together than to copy-paste stuff to both pages. Also, troping new reveals realted to his past like DB Cooper or cutting Sif's hair will quickly get troublesome, do we put it on the main page, on the variant page, both? As long as they are on the same page, it is not that much of a problem.

Aand.. the warning on Loki's page appears again. Should we move L1130 section here or split off a Loki Variants page and move all of them there?

Both variants are fine by me, I don't have a hard stance on that.

should we turn Loki spoilers off for this page? i feel like with everything that's been going on it's pretty much impossible to gatekeep like a certain threshold of spoilery moments without creating like a patchwork of spoiler warning tags all over the page. like the entire series is all spoilery moments lol
