I never said he wasn't an emotional crutch to her- I said that everyone was one to her, and therefore it belongs in the everyone folder. She cares for everyone in the dan, not just him. In the manga finale, she absolutely lost it and (temporarily) gave up om saving the survivors after Kano died. This isn't that big of a deal, why can't you just accept that? Let's just put this to rest, please.
Honestly, I don't really care anymore. Do what you want, I won't get rid of it.
Edited by AwesomeCat525272Gonna have to vote in favor of AwesomeCat on this one. If Marry is still prone to breaking down even with Seto's survival, then he doesn't count, since while she does value him much more than the other characters, it's not to the degree that he's the only thing keeping her stable.
"Roses are red, violets are blue, if I had a brick I'd throw it at you."In that same scenario, Seto was able to stabilize Marry's emotional state and get her to execute Shintaro's plan to seal the Clearing Eyes inside the Kagerou Daze. One problem: she needed one more snake to open it, with that snake belonging to Seto himself. Cue "Groundhog Day" Loop.
In the novel, a similar scenario happened, only this time Seto survived the tragedy and Marry did NOT reset time immediately even though she remembered the deaths of everybody else. It's after getting Seto and Hibiya's consent that she turns back the clock.
Edited by eshur0sThe official translation for Shintaro's power is "Imprinting". May I change it?
So another troper and I cannot decide whether Seto Kousuke is a Living Emotional Crutch to Marry, so I would like a second opinion on whether he qualifies as one:
- Seto first discovered Marry and introduced her to the outside world, meeting the rest of the Mekakushi Dan in the process.
- Seto always keeps Marry's emotions in check whenever she gets overwhelmed by the struggles in life.
- Every timeline Seto dies, Marry resets time. (This one can apply to everyone else too, but to certain extents).
- In the Novel Route, Seto survives the ordeal against the Clearing Eyes. Marry did NOT reset time right away, feigning amnesia and spending the rest of the summer with Seto before he cracks from guilt.
