"Not antagonistic" doesn't mean "not dangerous". It's certainly destructive when scared.
Fair enough. My main issue was that this is technically a subpage for the antagonist section, though.
I do still think that the folder should be changed from "Whirling Mungtooth" to just "Bloofy", seen as the show only ever showed the one, but that's minor.
In light of what I don't want to turn into an edit war — given that only the one mungtooth appeared on-screen, and that all other individual monsters are already listed here as individuals, with names where applicable, rather than by species (the red dragon, the green dragon, the chimera sisters, Mr. Tortoisnap, the Tantabus, etcetera) I very strongly feel that it's more appropriate to use "Bloofy" rather than "Whirling Mungtooth" in the folder name.
That would be adequate on the animal companion page, but not on this one.
Several other creatures are the only one appearing on-screen, but still their entries are used to describe the whole species.
Yes, they do. They're also all labeled as individual characters. If nothing else, by the standard used everywhere else in the page, it should be "The Whirling Mungtooth" like the other folders are "The Hydra", "The Tatzlwurm", "The Chimera", "The Smooze", "The Tantabus", "The Cipactli", "The Tri-Horned Bunyip", "The Maulwurf", "The Roc", and so on.
But because the whirling mungtooth happens to have a name, like the giant turtle also does, it would then make sense to use that name, like it's used for the giant turtle. I do not see a good reason not to use a singular name when all other one-specimen species already get singular names.
Two questions:
First, given that more dragons than the two from Season 1 and Garble's gang have appeared in the show, should we update the picture for the dragons folder? Mostly, I think we should include the ones from "Campfire Tales". I can make a new collage with no problem if that sounds like a good idea. I suppose perhaps we should wait and see if more dragons appear, but even then we always could update the image a second time.
Secondly, does anyone else think it might be a good idea to have two "general" folders, one for universal and semi-universal shared tropes and one for unsorted creatures? What I mean is that we might a) make a new folder at the top for common tropes shared by the monsters as a group (i.e., Mix-and-Match Critters, Multiple Head Case, etc., since several separate beasts over the show's run have had those characteristics) like other character pages around the wiki have, and reserve the current one at the bottom for tropes specific to monsters that don't have their own individual folders.
Hide / Show RepliesI added the image because I didn't think that was a terribly controversial issue — I can take it back down if it's an issue — but does anyone have any thoughts on the reorganization I brought up? Good idea, bad idea?
I feel that Bloofy/the whirling mungtooth should be moved to either the Animal Companions or the One-Shots page. He's not... really an antagonistic force as such, and he's clearly presented as someone's specific pet.
