On Worf Had the Flu:

"Not to mention, he had been holding back the stars for who knows how long, even in his frenzied state."

I've said this before, but nothing in the game so much as implies that "holding back the stars" weakened Radahn in any way, least of all enough to still affect him into the present. This seems to have just been cut from whole cloth. The statement from Blaidd, "I can't fathom how Radahn was holding back something of that scale", has been brought up as evidence, but this says nothing either. It's simply Blaidd being amazed that Radahn's spell could do so in the first place, not saying that casting the spell weakened him. If it was the case that he was operating below full potential since his youth (when he "conquered" the stars), you'd think that someone would mention it, especially Radahn's designated hype man Jerren who constantly extolls how strong he is. But there's literally nothing. No dialogue, no item description, no promotional bit of text on the back of a soda can, nothing. This in a game that always makes it really obvious when someone is on a handicap (e.g. Iji specifically noting that Radahn is weakened because of his wounds and disease, but saying nothing about him being weakened from "holding back the stars").

We know nothing about how he "froze the stars" or even what that entailed, but there's ample precedent in the rest of the game for spells just continuing to propagate without eternal drainage from their casters long after they were cast, and then dissipating when they die. Most notably, and relevant for this discussion, are the force fields placed around the map. Morgott has several of them blocking places in Leyndell. He does not have to put in any effort to maintain them, and they disappear after you kill him. The same thing happens in Oridys's Rise, where the force field blocking the door disappears after you kill the turtles who made it.

It isn't even a new thing for From Software either. Back in Dark Souls 1, Gwyndolin had a city-wide "illusion"/hard light construction complete with functioning guards that disappeared when he died. That didn't seem to sap his power any either, it's just that No Ontological Inertia is in full effect.

EDIT: Another example worth bringing up is Ranni. She has a spell that can maintain an entire pocket dimension complete with its own stars and moon, as well as a recreation of one of the world's most powerful sorcerers in their prime. Does this spell require perpetual effort from her current self? Did casting it make her weaker? Explicitly no in both cases. In fact, it's such a nonissue to her that she doesn't even notice if you trigger and dispel it.
