Voting yes here. Talulah during the confrontation in Chapter 8 speaks differently, thinks differently about her allies (from saying that she's fine dying if they survive to being satisfied that Yelena is dead), and has access to information that Talulah wouldn't, namely what appears to be eyewitness reports of ancient, extinct cultures. It's a personality merge at best and straight-up possession at worst.
It's been fun.Voting yes for the reasons Red outlined especially because to say otherwise makes the foreshadowing come off as nonsensical.
Yes, restore everything that has anything to do with the demonic possession, including the clauses in Bitch in Sheep's Clothing and Big Bad.
Also needs voting for the other edits Azwulf did.
Edited by AlaAlbaIt's been about five days and no one has argued against it, should the edits be restored?
Yomi-Hime didn't get the discussion memo and acted on their own, tho still in line with our discussion.
Is there a problem with including the original Chinese names of the characters? There are other character pages of Japanese works that include the katakanas/hiraganas alongside the chars' names (like pretty much the whole character page of Dragon Ball Z), so I don't see why this one shouldn't.
Edited by MagicalMarie Hide / Show RepliesAs I've said before in our private messages, it's a matter of keeping to a consistent format. The pages and the game follow the English naming convention regardless of language, so names should be kept in English unless stated otherwise (e.g. the Ursus students having their names in both English and Cyrillic because that's how they're also displayed in-game).
Unless you're about to do the same to all operators, which would be a bad idea IMO, it's best to keep a single format for all pages.
Well, I was about to do that with the operators, but you removed my edits while I was trying to get a list together of the Chinese names of the operators. I can't do that in a matter of minutes, u know? Gimme a break.
Edited by MagicalMarieDoesn't matter. My point still stands that the English names are to be kept as is, because that's how the game displays them even in CN or JP.
Also, you really should try to start discussions about changing formats before you commit to editing. First, the Reunion images, now this.
Sheesh, you are the only one who is complaining about this, man. I get your point about the pics, but like I said before, I fail to see the problem of including the Chinese names, specially when many other works' character pages did the same.
The operators may have already English names in CN, but that's not the case for the Npcs (except for Wei Yenwu and Fumizuki... For some reason). Does it hurt to include the Chinese names in the Rhodes Island/Reunion/Others chars page, at least? I wasn't even gonna change the names, just putting the Chinese names between brackets. And I'm not changing anything this time, just adding something that may be useful. But ok, I won't revert my edits for now.
Edited by MagicalMarieIMO, it does kinda break the verisimilitude the English server has with how it approaches names by trying to ensure that the name reflects the nation they hail from for playable characters.
I'd have to look at the CN names specifically but if they lean mostly toward using pinyin of Chinese characters to approximate how it'd sound in English, then it's not really that useful? It's just the same name but in a language that the wiki code isn't that great with handling nor one that the wiki generally expects readers to know.
And there you have the second opposing opinion.
And Nouct has a point: TV Tropes is a predominantly-English site, so having character names in a different language isn't awfully "useful" unless there's something special about them that has to be mentioned. And even then we could really just use tropes to do that, as in the case of Blue Poison/Azurius in CN.
Maybe somebody's editing it currently. Just wait until the timer expires.
With Great Power, Comes Great Motivation
Okay, so, Talulah: Demonic Possession Y/N?
Focusing specifically on whether it counts as possession; not the success thereof. Potential success can count, especially if we have evidence that it's happened before and is therefore a real threat, which Kaschey's knowledge would imply.
