So, as it turns out [1], in the anime, at least (don't know about the manga), Mask of the Accursed is destroyed when Yami Yugi summons Valkyrion via tributing Alpha, Beta and Gamma. That's why Lumis surrenders in the face of Obelisk after Umbra goes down. Lumis didn't have anything in his deck to stand up against the Egyptian God Card and Mask of the Accursed was no longer on the field!
