Except that thsi character wasn\'t really put on a bus to begin with, was he? I don\'t quite remember how he ceased appearing, but being put on a bus means that a main or recurring character who we would otherwise expect to be seeing is written out, not just that the story moves on to follow other characters (which happens a lot in YAFGC).
