It almost seems as if there should be two different tropes here. One for Magic Pants (where the clothes survive the transformation, or are strangely changed) and one for the aversion of this trope (where the clothes DO get torn/destroyed). People seem to be listing both here, often without mentioning that the torn clothes are an aversion.
