I just added a note to the description stating that this trope is TruthInTelevision. My reasoning is basically what Tropers/SirTopHat just said -- because we all grow up watching movies, T.V. shows, and plays where people over-act, we tend to forget that in real life it\'s not natural to show a lot of emotion. When we \'\'do\'\' show emotion, it\'s often because other people are around to see us -- or because we\'ve watched so much T.V. that we all thing it\'s what we\'re \'\'supposed\'\' to do, whether there\'s anyone around or not.
