I\'m not trying to make a JustifyingEdit for Yukiteru being listed as TheScrappy[[hottip:*: Hence why this is just going in the discussion]], (actually, I\'ve already ran into plenty of people who hate him, and I understand why), but his reason for being hated (in a similar vein to Shinji in \'\'NeonGenesisEvangelion\'\') is that he\'s an OrdinaryHighSchoolStudent, locked in a BattleRoyale deathmatch for godhood. Everyone is trying to kill him, and his girlfriend is \'\'[[{{Yandere}} homicidally]]\'\' devoted]] to him. Again, he still spends the better part of the series crying, cowering, [[WebVideo/MiraiNikkiTheAbridgedSeries crapping himself]], and crying. I guess I\'d have to watch the series before I make a call on how fair the fan hatred toward Yuki really is.

EDIT: Between the [[{{Shipping}} shippers]], both [[OfficialCouple canon]] and [[HoYay non-canon]], and those who just plain \\\'\\\'like\\\'\\\' this guy, it\\\'s a bit hard for me to believe that there aren\\\'t a sizeable number of fans who don\\\'t completely hate Yukiteru. In fact, from some of the comments on YouTube, it seems there are a few who can at least sympathize with him. Granted, as far as TheScrappy is concerned, he\\\'s likely the closest thing among fans of the show as any character can get to this trope (but really, how many people actually \\\'\\\'liked\\\'\\\' John Balks? Maybe they were just too \\\'meh\\\' to hate him, but still...). Wouldn\\\'t he be a bit of a BaseBreaker along with Yuno? Maybe not to the same degree, but still to a given extent, right?
