I don\'t think the RedShirts were showing an example of this trope because they were initially confused by the whole thing and had to be told there had been a quincy massacre in the past. It was only as they realised they were being massacred that the shinigami went into meltdown. That\'s not this trope at that point. KnightOfCerebus and GenocideBackfire cover this, the one\'s already listed and the other applies to the shinigami so should be on the main page rather than here.

The RedShirts were initially confused by the whole thing and had to be told there had been a quincy massacre. It was only as they realised they were being massacred that they went into meltdown and that was over the entire invasion rather than any individual quincy.
