OK, I did some research on this topic (I watched the film, not much more) and I came to the following tropes/elements I recognized: SwordInTheStone, {{Excalibur}}, Arthurian times, KnightInShiningArmour, perhaps EternalEnglish, Thule, the throne room annex WarRoom, liberal usage of Kilts amongst the Scotsmen, Valiant is part of a MosesInTheBullrushes project, lots of ShoutOuts to other works, such as AliceInWonderland (A dragon named Jabberwocky), SirGawainAndTheGreenKnight (Sir Gawain is a green knight and Valiant dons his armour once posing as sir Gawain, the transformation of the chick in the film from DamselInDistress to ActionGirl, something of a {{Ruritania}}, Wales, next to Arthurs England and perhaps a few more.
