1. \\\'\\\'\\\"M\\\'aiq knows much, tells some. M\\\'aiq knows many things others do not.\\\"\\\'\\\'

His greeting. No insulting the audience.

2.\\\'\\\'\\\"M\\\'aiq longs for a Colovian Fur Helm. Practical, yet stylish. M\\\'aiq is very sad he does not have one.\\\"\\\'\\\'

He wore this helm in Morrowind, but not in Oblivion. Does not insult the audience.

3. \\\'\\\'\\\"M\\\'aiq wishes he had a stick made out of fishies to give to you. Sadly, he does not.\\\"\\\'\\\'

Meme on the official forums. Quite funny., and no insulting the audience.

4. \\\'\\\'\\\"M\\\'aiq believes the children are our future. But he doesn\\\'t want them ruining all of our fun.\\\"\\\'\\\'

As in Morrowind, there are no children to be seen.
No insulting here.

5.\\\'\\\'\\\"M\\\'aiq thinks his people are beautiful. The Argonian people are beautiful as well. They look better than ever before.\\\"\\\'\\\'

Some people believe that the NPCs looked better in Morrowind, and that the beasts were ugly. No insulting the audience.

6.\\\'\\\'\\\"Some people wish to throw their weapons. That seems foolish to M\\\'aiq. If you hold your weapon, you only need one.\\\"\\\'\\\'

Borderline insult.

7.\\\'\\\'\\\"Some people want special bows that take too long to load and need special arrows called bolts. M\\\'aiq thinks they are idiots.\\\"\\\'\\\'

Wow, first definitive insult!

8. \\\'\\\'\\\"Feet are for walking. Hands are for hitting. Or shaking. Or waving. Sometimes for clapping.\\\"\\\'\\\'

Unfortunately, you cannot kick. No insulting.

9. \\\'\\\'\\\"M\\\'aiq prefers to adventure alone. Others just get in the way. And they talk, talk, talk.\\\"\\\'\\\'

Some people wanted a multi-player mode or the ability to create a party like in D&D or Final Fantasy. This has always been a single-player game, and more party members would simply jump in front of you when trying to attack an enemy like most allies tend to do. No insulting the audience.

10. \\\'\\\'\\\"People always enjoy a good fable. M\\\'aiq has yet to find one, though. Perhaps one day.\\\"\\\'\\\'

Take that at competing franchise. No insulting the audience.

11. \\\'\\\'\\\"So much easier to get around these days. Not like the old days. Too much walking. Of course, nothing stops M\\\'aiq from walking when he wants.\\\"\\\'\\\'

He talks about fast travel. It\\\'s a good addition for those of us who don\\\'t like having [[FakeLongevity Fake Longevity]] by making the game force us to backtrack. And, it\\\'s optional.
No insulting.

12. \\\'\\\'\\\"Why would one want to swing a staff? A mace hurts more. Or a sword. Can\\\'t shoot a fireball from a sword, though.\\\"\\\'\\\'

You cant use a staff as a melee weapon anymore, tough I\\\'m not sure why you\\\'d want to. No insulting.

13. \\\'\\\'\\\"I do not wish to fight on horseback. It is a good way to ruin a perfectly good horse... which is, to say, a perfectly good dinner.\\\"\\\'\\\'

No horseback combat. A shame, but he doesn\\\'t insult anyone.

14. \\\'\\\'\\\"Levitation is for fools. Why would we want to levitate? Once you are up high, there is nowhere to go but down.\\\"\\\'\\\'
He does insult the audience, but this removal is quite justifiable.
First of all, the worlds inside Oblivion gates would be broken by Levitation, since they rely on gates and spiraling buildings. And some dungeons have a one-way exit at the end that would be exploitable by levitation.
Second of all, since cities are in separate cells, it wouldn’t be good to be able to fly into nothingness. He could have gotten his point across less insultingly, so I’ll give you that.

15. \\\'\\\'\\\"M\\\'aiq is glad he has a compass. Makes it easy to find things. Much better than wandering around like a fool.\\\"\\\'\\\'

Borderline insult. He’s referring to the quest arrow. Since most of the NPCs have dynamic schedules, hunting down the correct NPC would be a chore without this.

16. \\\'\\\'\\\"It is good the people wear clothing. M\\\'aiq wears clothing. Who would want to see M\\\'aiq naked? Sick, sick people. Very sad.\\\"\\\'\\\'

No nudity in the game. I wouldn’t call this one insulting since you ARE sick if you want to see that.

17. \\\'\\\'\\\"I don\\\'t know why one would want to destroy a building. It takes time to make it. Much time.\\\"\\\'\\\'

You can’t destroy buildings. No insulting.

18. \\\'\\\'\\\"I have seen dragons. Perhaps you will see a dragon. I won\\\'t say where I saw one. Perhaps I did not.\\\"\\\'\\\'

No dragons or insulting.

\\\'\\\'Werewolves? Where? Wolves? Men that are wolves? Many wolves. Everywhere. Many men. That is enough for M\\\'aiq.\\\'\\\'

No werewolves or insulting.

Depending on what you consider to be an insult, 2-4 out of 18 insult the players.
That isn’t “most” of his statements.

And some of us would prefer to actually play the game instead of wandering around looking for the objective.

\\\"And, I linked to that Wikipedia article to show that the did, in fact, put effort into making the game. Try reading some interviews linked from that article. \\\" Game yes, voice acting, \\\'\\\'\\\'\\\'\\\'no\\\'\\\'\\\'\\\'\\\'. If NPCs changing voices during the conversation is evidence that voice acting was given sufficent care, Big Rigs must have been made with lots of love and care...

The issue under StuckItems is not that the items are stuck, but that items that are no longer needed get stuck, items that are stuck are kept in jail and at least once an item that needs to be dropped will be flaged as a quest item and makes the quest unwinable. Such issues \\\'\\\'are\\\'\\\' fixed in the unoffical patch.

Your issue seems to be with the phrasing of the example texts anyways. They are legitimate examples of the tropes in question. If you have an issue, change the phrasing, do \\\'\\\'\\\'not\\\'\\\'\\\' remove legitimate examples.
