The creators were always pretty infamous for answering everything with a ShrugOfGod, and nowadays fans differ on whose answers really count since the series has been split up between developers. It more or less has to work like that for \'\'Origins\'\', but it can be interpreted differently in the first game (where whatever happened to the town seems to have happened because of Cheryl\'s return), and \'\'Homecoming\'\' has a completely different take on things that requires lotsa {{fanon}} to work into the \'\'Origins\'\' idea. And then there\'s the comic books, but the less said there, the better. :) Anyway, if that comment stands, it\'s just a matter of time before someone comes along and writes \

Leaving the answer vague here, and discussing the town\\\'s metaphysical nature on the JBM/WMG pages, is more appropriate, as that way everyone has a chance to respond without bogging the main text down.

The creators are pretty infamous for answering everything with a ShrugOfGod, and of course, people differ on whose answers really count now that the series is split up between developers. It more or less has to work like that for \'\'Origins\'\', but it can be interpreted differently in the first game (where whatever happened to the town is said to have happened immediately upon Cheryl\'s return), and \'\'Homecoming\'\' has a completely different take on the whole thing that requires lotsa {{fanon}} to work into the \'\'Origins\'\' idea.
