At first you think \\\"Oh, Looks vaguely French\\\". Therefore it\\\'s pronounced as per French or even English - \\\"Su-Jet\\\".
Then yu explain it comes from Russian. Oh right, Russian word transliterated into Latin. It\\\'s got a \\\"J\\\" in it still, so this is evidently the Eastern European version. therefore \\\"Suh-YHET\\\". Got it.
And then you give us the presumed original Cyrillic spelling Сюжет. Which doesn\\\'t have a \\\"J\\\"-sound in it at all, neither eatern nor western European. What it does have in Russian is the \\\"ж\\\", which is a sort of \\\"Kh\\\" thing. Therefore, \\\"Suh-K\\\'het\\\".
