Uh... did he actually say this? If you\\\'ve read the whole Barsoom series, published in the 30s or thereabouts, you\\\'ll know it features jeds jedaks and *sith,* making it a kind-of obvious source for the terms. It could be both, I suppose. Jedi fuse characteristics of idealized knights and East Asian monks; jeds are more medieval dukes/knights. The sith of Barsoom is a non-sapient 6-feet-long hornet; very dangerous, would definitely be an aggro mob in a game. It\\\'s also very rare, calling to mind, \\\"only 2 there are, master and apprentice.\\\" But the East Asian influences in Star Wars are also obvious, it would be silly to deny that \\\'jidaigeki\\\' was also an inspiration for \\\'jedi\\\'.
