did we forget that the US carpet-bombed the northern half of the korean peninsula, basically scorching/salting the earth up there? one of the biggest reasons they\'ve been so dependent on foreign aid since and been so prone to famine is because *their formerly-arable soil is next to useless*. still. the other is the sanctions forbidding them from simply importing food.
