Aqua hates herself to the point she has tried to commit suicide several times and her hate for herself even manifested in the form of another her who tried to destroy her. Aqua feels alone and abandoned, she feels that her friends tie her down, she knows she\\\'s a keyblade master but she feels unworthy of the title but also knows it\\\'s expectations are not something she can just shed, she blames her friends and more importantly herself for everything that happened in BBS, and she worries that the courage she has is bluster as it\\\'s failing to hold up against her own thoughts.
These are the ugly cracks in her heart, the feelings she tries to keep buried, the darkness seeped into her heart and into those cracks and bombarded her with them. She destroyed the phantoms generated from these cracks, but the actual cracks themselves remain and she was deeply concerned that now that the cracks in her heart are exposed to the darkness that she will be consumed.
0.2 deliberately never resolves any of those issues, all KH3 is doing is bringing us to the logical conclusion. Take away what little bit of emotional restraint Aqua has Dark Aqua is EXACTLY what you get.
