I agree it counts as an AssPull for Merged Zamasu to fuse with the Multiverse. Thing is, there was zero foreshadowing to Merged Zamasu being able to do any of that - there's no connection between the destruction of his body and what kind of powers his immortal soul could have had.

I don\'t agree that he should have just done it at the start though, because again there\'s no reason to assume it would happen if Merged Zamasu destroyed his own body. The write-up for it should exclude that last sentence.
