I don't doubt that there are legit examples of various Deconstructed Tropes. I'm just saying that these were clearly written by someone who has an incorrect idea of what a Deconstructed Trope is. See, that's the thing, an entry should make sense to someone who hasn't played the game, otherwise it has insufficient context. Specifically, I believe that there may be a DeconstructedTrope example of GottaCatchEmAll as you say, but, you know, the writeup didn't even mention the trope.

Mons in particular have a very peculiar relationship with {{Deconstruction}}, what with the first {{mons}} game being about the apocalypse and the monsters were gods and demons that wreaked havoc on the world and nuked most of it in the first act, so I would question any GenreDeconstruction here no matter what.
