AND, again, dark Pokedex entries have long been a staple (Cubone, Haunter)

1- Overall \'\'tone\'\' isn\'t much different

2- There were worse villains before Lusamine, who tried to do things like destroy the entire universe

3- Dark Pokemon stories are a longtime characteristic. Haunter sucking out life force, Drowzee eating dreams, Cubone weeping for it\'s dead mom, Mewtwo being the result of horrific lab accidents, etc.

4- Death, implied or shown, has been a characteristic for a while. Giovanni was implied to commit suicide, for example.

5- Team Rocket did some pretty evil stuff, like killing Pokemon and abusing Slowpokes.

6- Far darker games exist, like Black and White, Mystery Dungeon, and Colesseum.

Also, some of the entries aren't as dark. the Primeape entry says nothing about it being only happy when near death.
