* MillenniumBug: According to Emma, the [=Y2K=] protective patches on every American's computer also contained a backdoor for the U.S. Government (or rather, the Patriots) -- prophetic in light [[http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Heartbleed of later events.]] However, this was still [[ConspiracyTheorist tinfoil hat]] territory in 2002.

I fail to see the similarity between the Patriots' backdoor and the real-life Heartbleed. The Patriots' backdoor involver a program inserted ''deliberately'' in people's computers, using Y2K as an excuse, which allowed them to censor data. Heartbleed involved a glitch inserted ''accidentally'' in the OpenSSL code, which didn't have anything to do Y2K, which allowed hackers to use it to steal data.
