Because the trope deals with a sensitive political issue, it uses ameliorative language to implicitly state, \"the character believes this; it\'s not our job to declare them right or wrong.\"

I\'m not saying that we should avoid sensitive political issues altogether; that\'s impossible if we\'re to trope works that deal with those issues at all. I\'m saying that we should take care to phrase them as neutrally as possible, and the more sensitive the issue, the farther out of our way we should go to ensure neutral phrasing.
